Karl Sjostrom and Mikael Nypelius started Fruktstereo after working various jobs in restaurants. As most projects start they started small with apples from abandoned orchards and their own gardens. They expanded their production and now they make a wide variety of "fruit Pet-Nats" with fruit from their gardens, surrounding orchards, or leftover fruit from local farmers. Their cider, wine, perry (whatever you want to call it) is extremely raw and clean. Low ABV and extremely easy to drink while listening to your favorite album. Be careful what puns you let rip as you drink.
"For us cider is made from fruit and nothing else. In Sweden, however, it is allowed to used up to 85% water, flavorings and sugar and still call it cider. We asked outselves how would a 'cider' with just 15% fruit taste? and we gave it a try. This is the result. To us it tastes like a dry apple lemonade, it's low in alcohol and has just a bit of tannin from the fruit pulp (leftovers from the 'real' cider production, used to give a richer flavor to the drink), it has a nice natural freshness and almost no residula sugar. It's a great drink but one thing is for sure: This is not a real cider."
"This is not a cider" is made with 15% apple and pear mix of all the skins, cores, pips and fruit and water that macerates for 2-4 weeks.
