Les Freres Soulier are two brothers who purchased 8 hectares of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, and Ugni Blanc in the Rhone. Guillaume and Charles Soulier complement each other in many ways. Guillaume is a qualified landscape gardener and spends most of his time in the vineyard. He breeds sheep for grazing and they have a horse for plowing. Charles studied oenology and worked on a nearby vineyard for a couple years. They chose to go back to the fundamentals and make harmonious, elegant wine. They are young, but they are competent and thoughtful in their winemaking.
La Clastre is mainly Syrah with a a little Tempranillo. Trempouillette method, shorter maceration, rests 6 months in oak barrel. Very light red or "rose". Think Tavel; candied fruit, round and silky. Bright strawberry with some savory notes of white pepper.
