A very special and serious Blaufränkisch. A little fizz upon opening (a technique to preserve the wine without using SO2!), but just decant this beaut. Deep blue fruits with white pepper and stunning mineral texture. Concentrated with a freshness that complements the dark tones.

The grapes are very gently pressed in a vertical basket press, thus extracting only the best juice. The must is returned to the vineyard, aiding its health. The wine ferments in closed top tanks outside and gently foot stomped and then aged for two years in barrel. Hand bottled, hand harvested, hand everything and no added sulfur.

When we think of Burgenland, Christian Tschida is one of the first winemakers that comes to mind. He cares for about 14 hectares of old vines, some of which that have been in his family since the 19th century. The soil is composed of a combination of sandy gravel, schist and limestone. The vineyards are located close to the extremely large lake, Neusiedler. Tschida is a permanent icon in the natural wine world.
