This hand harvested, single vineyard wine is 100% unfiltered and unfined organic Chenin Blanc from Tunuyan within the Uco Valley. Fermented and aged in tank for 6 months.

Gen del Alma was started in 2012 by winemaker Andrea Mufatto and her husband Gerardo Michelini of Zorzal.  Andrea and Gerardo have bought land and planted vines in multiple areas of northern Mendoza; their focal concept was to showcase purity, minerality, and freshness making wines from organically grown vineyards in the Uco valley. The groundbreaking project was incredibly successful and catapulted the Michelinis to the forefront of natural winemaking in Argentina. Fast-forward almost a decade, and now the restless couple Andrea and Gerardo decided to leave Gen del Alma to a new generation of winemakers so that they could focus on their new winery and label, Michelini I Muffato (which makes wines in Argentina as well as in Bierzo, Spain.)

Some of the original partners of Gen del Alma are still taking care of the winery, but the viticulture and winemaking are now in the hands of Matias Prieto (an agronomist) and Belen Sanchez (she is making the wines). The pair continues the legacy of the Michelinis, using the same grape sources, and a variety of techniques, vinifying the reds partially in carbonic maceration, and using concrete eggs, amphorae and different foudres to finish the wines.
