This is not your father's Shiraz...it is light, bright and oh so juicy. Perfect spring/summer red but can cozy up next to you in the winter too. It is not a wine to contemplate but to crack the second bottle because you'll need it. There is some Italian twang to really spice things up this vintage. It was a hungover early call late in the vintage that brought access to some seriously fun Italians that would take the raspberries in our wine to sarsaparilla. Jimmykata is primarily Shiraz picked nice and early from a single vineyard in Alpine Valleys blended with small parcels of Heathcote Sagrantino and Schioppettino as well as a splash of Pinot Noir and Meunier from Whitlands.
Great springtime red. Juicy red fruits, crisp crunchy tannin, touch of fruit sweetness, little chill, smash it back happy days. Touch of green herb and pepper through the finish amongst the squishy berries and refreshing acidity. Need to drain the glass is palpable. Ludicrously smashable red wine here.
