The top master of Beaujolais, some of the most elusive wines in all of France, and even in a vintage with decent yields these wines can be impossible to find. 2018 looks to be a very solid vintage with excellent power and elegance.
Métras has produced a superb Gamay grown in silty sands using organic methods. The freshness of its aromas, and its indulgence on the palate, make this a perfect wine for an apéritif. However, its solidity and structured body mean it can be paired with more substantial dishes too, or kept for a few years.
