Description

"The limestone soils of Chambertin have the same ratio of fine earth to pebbles (68 to 32 percent) as Montrachet and—like the Montrachet wines—Chambertin has the potential to age magnificently. This rich, generous wine is selected from a half-hectare (1.2-acre) plot at the extreme north end of the 12.9-hectare (32-acre) vineyard, at an altitude of 275 to 300 meters (900 to 985 feet)." - Bowler

"Very ripe plum, cassis and black cherry aromas are nuanced by floral-suffused hints of earth, humus and forest floor. There is outstanding volume to the seductively textured flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the velvety and mocha-suffused finish. This seems deceptively supple at present but beneath the baby fat lurks a very firm tannic spine."
