Michel Théron from Clos du Jaugueyron has been making wine in the Haut-Médoc since the early '90s. Unlike most of his neighbors, Michel has been working organically almost since the beginning (he is now certified biodynamic), and he is no fan of over extracted, over oaked, or over scored wines. It is all about the famed terroir here, all about finesse, a word that does not often come to mind when one talks about Bordeaux anymore. Yes, they are powerful, earthy, serious, but finesse and delicatesse is what comes to mind first. Farming 5ha in the town of Arsac, on the same terroirs as the more famous Chateaux in the area such as Cantemerle, Michel is crafting wines that will be the next true classics.
