6 year old rum. This unusual expression was distilled from local molasses in a small pot still in Australia. The exact origins of this spirit are unclear, although a number of high quality distillers of rum exists today in the region. These barrels were distilled entirely in 2013 and aged for four years under the hot australian sun before being shipped to Europe for an additional two years of maturation in ex-cognac casks with the much more subtle conditions of the European continent. Despite being bottled at a relatively approachable 96 proof, this rum is by no means low character. Bold, intense and unique, few will recongnize the style due to its rarity, but once you've tasted, it will be hard to forget. Tasting notes from Transcontinental," Profile: Full-bodied and precise.
