Description
Grapes: 60% Silvaner, 40% Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc)
Vineyard: 15-25 years old vines on limestone. Estate-owned and farmed organically by Max&Marika themselves
Making of: the grapes are hand-picked. 50% of the grapes are direct-pressed and 50% undergo whole-cluster fermentation for up to 14 days. Native yeast only. Aged on lees for 9 months in the traditional German Stückfass. Bottled unfined and unfiltered, with a tiny addition of SO2 (10ppm max).
Personality: light (9.5% alc vol only) and refreshing white, with heaps of citrus and floral notes. Incredibly easy to drink while still layered and interesting – our tasting notes say “the kind of wine you can drink by gallons”.
