Hand-harvested and destemmed Welshriesling fermented in 300-liter open top barrels. Elevage takes place in the same barrels for about 4 months during which time battonage is performed just three times. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small addition of sulfur. Nigori refers to the cloudy appearance. The sediment and lees remain in the bottle.
Zsolt Sütő, or affectionately know as Zsolty, farms 12 hectares close to the village Strekov. The region has a distinct microclimate that leads to an ideal, long ripening season. The top layer of soil consists of clay-loam, which lies above the marine sediments, sandstone and limestone veins. He cultivates bush vines leading to deep roots, and drought resistant vines.
