Description
Guillaume et Baptiste Frey, twin brothers with a business background fell in love with winemaking during the pandemic under the tutelage of Vincent Carême. They purchased 12 hectares in Vernou-Sur-Brenne amongst a few neighboring natural winemakers and have produced a wonderfully successful first few vintages of AOC Vouvray.
VARIETY: Chenin Blanc
TERROIR: This parcel, with a surface area of less than one hectare, is located on the southern slope of the Vernou-Sur-Brenne commune and is comprised of a thin layer of top soil over tuffeau bedrock. Some of the vines in this parcel are almost a hundred years old. Named after the tuffeau walls that are visible when you stand on the plot and look west towards one of the appellation's slopes.
VINIFICATION: Direct press in stainless. Aged a minimum 12 months in barriques.
